Working in Australia

This visa addresses Australia’s skill shortage. The applicant must have the skills and work experience to fill a position nominated by an approved business for an approved occupation.

The Temporary Skill Shortage Visa (subclass 482) enables visa holders to work in Australia in their nominated occupation for their approved sponsor under one of three streams:

  • Short-Term stream
  • Medium-Term stream
  • Labour Agreement stream

This Visa may be granted for a period of 1 to 4 years.

There are three mandatory requirements to obtaining this visa:

  1. Sponsorship
  2. Nomination
  3. Visa Application

The partner and dependent children of the successful visa applicant are entitled to live and work in Australia.
They are also required to satisfy certain health and character requirements. English language requirements also apply (unless exempted).

Australian Employers

This visa enables nominated skilled workers to live and work in Australia. This visa is a permanent residence visa for skilled workers. 

There are three streams including:

  1. Temporary Residence Transition stream
  2. Direct Entry stream
  3. Labour Agreement stream

They are also required to satisfy certain health and character requirements. English Language requirements also apply unless exempted.
